Description:

It happens to the best of us.  One minute you're knitting along happily, and then you look down and notice that something doesn't look right.   Don't panic -- problems happen to everyone and they're usually easy to fix with a few tricks and a little patience.   This class will help you take a deep breath, identify the problem, and learn how to fix it.

  • Dropping Down to Fix a Stitch:  turn knits into purls (and vice versa), how to pick up dropped stitches with a crochet hook in garter, stockinette and stitch patterns
  • Picking up a Dropped Edge Stitch
  • What are those extra yarnovers?
  • Ripping Out Rows
  • Placing a Lifeline
  • Fixing a Split Stitch
  • Preventing and Fixing Twisted Stitches
  • Fixing a twist in circular knitting after joining
  • Duplicate stitch to the rescue

 

 

Class Supplies:

Smooth, light colored Sport, DK or Worsted weight yarn;

needles appropriate to the yarn weight (US 4-8);

double pointed needles (US3-6);

split ring markers, coil-less safety pins or locking stitch markers

tapestry needle

crochet or repair hook

 

Class time: 3 hours
