This class will be Thursday, November 7 from 9 a.m. until 12 a.m. at the Fiber Frolic Retreat
Description:
Learn two fun color techniques while beginning a pair of fingerless mitts - starting with Latvian Braid and moving on to Helix Knitting. Latvian Braid creates the look of a twist or rope embedded into your knitting. Knitting in the round creates a continuous spiral. The beginning and end of the round don't quite line up, and jogless techniques don't work with one-round stripes. Helix Knitting stacks two or more spirals on top of one another to create jogless single-row stripes and avoid carrying the alternating yarns up the inside of the knitting.
Students will learn how to convert standard stripe to helical knitting using the Marra Mitts Pattern.
Class Supplies: Light DK or Sport weight wool, in 3 colors, approximately 50 yards of each color per pair. US 4 Double Points or one long circular needle for magic loop.
Class size: maximum 16
Classes are for retreat attendees only. Thank you.
